I am honoured to have been eleceted as one of your Councillors for Hartford & Greenbank ward. I’ve held a number of senior positions in the commercial aviation industry which led me to move to Northwich in February 2000 when I took a position based at Manchester Airport.
In my spare time and for a number of years prior to moving to Northwich I served as a Special Constable with Sussex Police during which time I was formally recognised for, amongst other things, my dedication to duty. I remain proud of that recognition to this day particularly as the nomination came from regular officers with whom I had worked regularly.
I moved to Hartford in August 2011 and very soon realised what a wonderful place it is to live. We are very lucky to have such a range of shops, businesses and leisure facilities on our doorstep as well a range of excellent schools. It is a little known fact that Hartford has more educational facilities than any other village in Europe! Unfortunately though, we’ve been the victims of our own success insofar as it has led to substantial development in recent years. Sadly this development has not been matched by a commensurate scaling up of our local infrastructure. I’m particularly concerned about the increasing traffic congestion and the likely impact upon local air quality as well as the condition of our roads.
I served on Hartford Parish Council from 2014 until 2019 during which time we created the Hartford Speed Watch Group and successfully lobbied Cheshire West and Chester Council to provide speed indicator devices on School Lane, Hodge Lane and Chester Road.
