Now is a time to focus on keeping our communities safe. That means looking after our families, our friends and our neighbours. But I don’t want people thinking that this issue has been forgotten.
Today I received this response from the DfT after expressing my concern that Cheshire West Council has consistently failed to deliver a solution to congestion on Winnington Bridge.
As expected, this problem is one for the Council. Right now we must support the Council in its response to Covid-19. But as soon as we get through this, we must ensure that it cannot continue to kick this problem into the long grass. We need a second bridge.
