The Weavervale Conservatives are delighted to announce that Graham Evans has been selected as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Weavervale.
Graham will work for a 'country that works for everyone' by:
More good job opportunities and skills training for local people
I believe few things are more important than being able to earn a wage, support your family and plan a future. This year sees my 4th Jobs & Apprenticeship Fair helping people find jobs. I'll continue to work with local employers to make sure local people can benefit as the economy grows.
Championing investment in schools providing excellent education to inspire our children
I've secured £4.7 million for new school places locally, after Labour failed to plan for a growing places need. I'll continue to work hard to give all our schools and teachers the support they need to ensure all local children get the best possible start in life.
Supporting and protecting our NHS – championing local NHS investment
I’m proud the government has increased NHS funding by £12.7billion since 2010. I've secured funds for Leighton Hospital, a new Urgent Care Centre at Halton General and the Princeway Medical Centre in Frodsham. I'll press NHS Trust chiefs to provide as many services as possible locally.
Funds for important local infrastructure projects which improve our everyday lives
I've lobbied hard to secure funds for important local infrastructure, securing money for the re-opening of the Halton Curve, the new Mersey Gateway Bridge, the Northwich Lifestyle Centre and the Sutton Weaver Bridge refurbishment. I'll continue to fight for resources to improve our area.
Superfast broadband for all homes and businesses right across Weaver Vale and Cheshire
£1.7billion is being invested by the government to deliver superfast broadband to 95% of homes and businesses by 2017. I’ll continue to campaign to ensure everyone has access to top speeds and that rural and semi-rural areas are able to keep up with this important technology.
Plugging potholes and making our roads easier to use day in, day out
I worked to secure money from the government's £168million pot hole fund to help our councils repair local roads. We need to make sure that our roads are useable for Cheshire's hard working families. I will keep up the pressure for this money to be spent quickly to repair our roads.
